Small & General Aviation Airports

Small airports make up the largest share of airports worldwide and primarily serve private aircraft, charter flights, flight training, and general aviation rather than scheduled commercial service. Most do not have IATA codes and may consist of a single paved or grass runway. Despite their size, small airports play a vital role in regional access — particularly in remote areas of Alaska, Canada, Africa, and the Pacific where they represent the only practical air link to isolated communities.
